Rome

Wow! That’s how I feel about Rome. We only spent 2 short days there because we truly didn’t think we’d like the big city that much and added it into our itinerary last minute. Boy do we wish we spent more time there! We fell in love with the grandness of this city. We actually managed to see quite a bit in 2 days and for that I’m grateful.

We visited the Tomb of the Lost Soldier, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Palentine Hill, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Vatican Museum, and St. Peter’s Basilica. We got lucky and ran into a tour group that was very informative without being boring. We were able to cover a lot of ground in those two days without rushing through everything for the most part. The Collosseum and the Vatican impressed us to no end. It’s amazing to see these things in person. Especially when you know how long these things have been there. We fell in love with the juxtaposition of the very old outsides with the modern insides.
